What Happened To Inirv After Shark Tank?

Shark Tank episode 915 features Ranjith Babu and Akshita Iyer pitching their smart stove knobs, Inirv, to the Sharks.

There is a gas, smoke, and motion sensor on each stove knob.

The stove knobs automatically turn off the stove when the sensor detects a high level of smoke, gas, or inactivity in the kitchen, saving energy.

Inirv’s mission statement says that it strives to make cooking easier and safer by transforming how people interact with their kitchens.

You can control the sensors and knobs of Inirv using a smartphone app, Google Home, or Amazon Alexa.

The knobs do nothing but turn off the stove. Be sure never to leave a stove on while you’re away.

If you have ever gone out of the house and realized, “Oh-oh, I left the stove on,” Inirv can assist you.

The company launched a Kickstarter campaign in February 2017 and raised $175,548.

They also raised $183,727 on Indiegogo. The team seems to be making progress toward fulfilling pledges (as of January 1, 2018), even though they haven’t yet delivered any products.

They are currently accepting reservations on their website. For $99.9, you get a single sensor unit with a single knob.

The sensor unit and four knobs are included in the $229 package. It will not work with stoves that have buttons; if yours has knobs, you’re out of luck.

Sharks may be able to aid Babu and Iyer with their production problems.

Is there a Shark out there that can tell how urgent this investment opportunity is?

What Is Inirv?

Inirv is a smart stove kit with stove knobs and motion and gas sensors. Inirv’s smart stove package includes gas, smoke, and motion sensors.

The knob will automatically go off when a sensor detects excessive amounts of smoke or gas and little or no movement around it.

You can control Inirv stove kits using smartphone apps such as Alexa and other smart home devices.

Who Is The Founder Of Inirv?

Ranjith Babu and Akshita Iyer created the revolutionary Inirv device.

Ranjith was a resident neurosurgeon at that time, and Akshita considered applying to medical school but decided against it to devote herself to Inirv.

The medical term “innervate” refers to the process of stimulating the nervous system.

Inirv Before Shark Tank

The Inirv React is a cutting-edge device that lets users control their stove remotely via an app.

The Inirv firm idea first entered Akshita’s head when her mother, who used a wheelchair, moved in with her.

This stove features special knobs that may be used with gas and electric systems for more efficient cooking.

It’s a must-have for any kitchen, but it also enhances safety by allowing you to turn off the stove remotely in the event of an accident.

Inirv Shark Tank Update

Akshita realized they could have left the stove on while out to see a movie, so they came home.

She returned to her house and found it engulfed in smoke.

It is quite likely that her pet dog, who was left at home alone during the incident, was quite frightened, despite no injuries to anyone else.

There was also a lot of smoke damage for Akshita to deal with. The Kickstarter campaign Akshita ran in 2017 raised all the $40,000 her firm needed within a few days.

After having enough funds to make Alexa compatible with the device, the two started a second campaign.

It was until a fortnight later that they met their target.

The company was eager to satisfy its investors’ expectations despite no completed purchases by 2018.

How Was The Shark Tank Pitch Of Inirv?

Akshita and Ranjith introduce themselves to the sharks as the brains of Inirv.

Ranjith and Akshita appeared on the Shark Tank show seeking an investment of $800,000 for an 8% stake in Inirv.

They claim that distracted cooking is dangerous, and they support their claim.

The creators spend the first few seconds of their pitch emphasizing the dangers of cooking while distracted (e.g., phone calls, screaming kids, etc.).

They then set up a stove onstage and demonstrate its operation with knobs provided by the audience.

Ranjith explains that this problem affects millions of people worldwide, leading to deadly kitchen fires.

Samples are given out after the pitch. There are still a lot of tweaks to be made before the product is ready for market.

Inirv Shark Tank Update

Akshita has created Inirv React to make kitchens safer and more intelligent.

They got the impression from Ranjith that their product is a cutting-edge kitchen device that can automatically identify dangers and shut off the stove.

Sharks are impressed with the $430,000 Kickstarter campaign they’ve gotten thus far. They have also made several patent applications.

Mark is the first Shark to go public with his doubts about the product’s viability.

Kevin dismisses their estimate as ludicrous and declares that he will not be returning his money.

Daymond is out of options since he cannot see a way to recover his funds. Robert is willing to give him $800,000 in exchange for a 20% stake.

Robert leaves the negotiation table when the other side offers $800,000 for 10% + 2.5% advisory shares.

Lori likes the concept, but it hasn’t been fully developed, so she’s out for the time being.

What Happened To Inirv After Shark Tank?

The manufacturer of the knobs they contracted to produce sued INIRV about six months after the show was scheduled to air.

INIRV was alleged to owe the plaintiffs money for services provided.

INIRV argues that the company lost sales and investment opportunities due to failing to deliver a functional product.

They settled in December of this year. They didn’t reveal the terms. To learn more, check out these links:

They’re still not delivering on their crowdfunding promises in 2021. (over four years).

Backers are venting their frustrations on the campaign’s crowdfunding pages in droves. They announced in February 2021 that they would be shipping soon.

A second update was issued in May 2021, claiming a shortage of chips was causing problems. They revamped and changed its name to Ome in June of 2021.

They claim to be “near” having items ready to ship, but they have not yet done so.

Kickstarter pledgers as recently as December 2021 claimed that they had received their knobs, yet there are still many comments indicating that others have not yet received their pledged goods.

You can purchase the knobs from the company’s website, as they have “limited availability.”

Is Inirv Still In Business?

It has been a long since Akshita and Ranjith were on Shark Tank to pitch their product.

What is the current state of the business?

They’ve made progress on their project since they participated in the show.

They appear to have moved on to manufacturing, based on some of the updates on their Kickstarter page.

The company announced the acquisition of new motors sometimes back.

However, the final product appears to be some way off even with those caveats.

It is possible to reserve a unit on Inirv’s website, which only requires user names and e-mail addresses (no credit cards needed).

You can find out more about them by going to their official website, which you can see by clicking here.
